Mahaffey Laboratory Ltd. Mahaffey Laboratory is proud to list the following certifications and achievements accomplished by the owners, laboratory staff, and their technical equipment. Certification is accomplished in Pennsylvania through the Department of Environmental Protection by analyzing Performance Tests, ("PT") samples, and through on-site inspections and audits of laboratory methodology, procedures, personnel, and equipment.

National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) * * Parameters for waste water discharges do not fall under a certification status, but are required to be analyzed through Performance Tests, ("PT") samples. The required parameters are those which our clients must monitor due to their manufacturing process. These parameters will be listed in their NPDES permit and will vary from client to client.
Mahaffey Laboratory is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Accredited Environmental Laboratories and serves on the board of directors. We strive to promote the advancement of environmental laboratories by providing educational opportunities and professional development. Our laboratory has addressed educational needs of local schools and community organizations, by providing tours of our laboratory facility with explanation of procedures and equipment. We have been able to donate to our local schools environmental expertise, various pieces of laboratory equipment and supplies. Our professional development can be seen in the many areas of certification that have been gained in the past years and others that will be reached in the near future.
